Waterloo Filtration Institute (WFI) has completed another course in the Certified Filtration & Separation Specialist (CFSS 2020) program with the third course on liquid filtration and separation this morning.
Today’s course Solid Liquid Separation was conducted by Dr. Wu Chen, Principal Research Scientist at Dow, a well-recognized leading expert in the global filtration and separation industry. It was an excellent and informative course, well received by the class. The course allowed participants to learn about techniques in-field separation of contaminants from an industrial perspective. The WFI staff thanks Dr. Wu Chen for his participation in this important subject and his well-received course.
Dr. Swarna Agrawal will continue to train participants in our liquid training course by offering Liquid Filter Testing and Evaluation next Tuesday. This is a course designed especially for liquid filter product evaluation and industry-standard test methods, an introductory course on liquid filtration testing, testing methods and standards, and equipment or instruments used. The course will cover filter test techniques and standards for water, fuel, lube oil, and hydraulic fluids. Besides, particle characteristics, efficiency methods, and ratings will also be reviewed
Dr. Agrawal has 12+ years of experience in filtration and the nonwoven manufacturing industry. For the last 7 years, she has been working as Engineering Manager with Parker Hannifin Engine and Mobile Original Equipment division. She is responsible for all the R&D development for diesel fuel, hydraulic oil, urea filtration regarding filter media selection, their performance, and failure analysis. While working at Parker, she has developed more than 30 new products and improved the R&D technology and capabilities to an advanced level. She holds 3 patents and several publications and conference proceedings.
Mr. Vincent Edry will serve as one of our panelists on this course in order to aid in our Q&A session. He is the General Manager of the French Institute of Filtration and Separative Technics (IFTS), a Research Center and Testing Center leading the Filtration standardization by bringing pre-normative work in over 15 working groups of various Technical Committees at both ISO and CEN level. IFTS is promoting educational programs and scientific research in filtration and technic of separation for almost 40 years.
Reminder: Waterloo Filtration Institute will have its third open educational Webinar Air Filtration and Facemask Update on COVID-19, Tomorrow, 9 am–10:30 (EDT). It will further discuss air filtration and facemasks in response to COVID- 19, including its continuous impact on air filtration market, new updates from ASHRAE, general practices in hospitals and buildings, lessons learned from the field and latest developments of facemasks and air filtration to prevent coronavirus infection and keep people safe. Reserve Your Seat NOW.
Become a Certified Filtration and Separation Specialist, and there are still classes left to boost your knowledge and raise your professional value in the filtration marketspace.
